WPC- ANGRY

This week's photo challenge word was ANGRY. I totally forgot... between packing for the summer and the big move, taking care of Weston, driving to Maryland.. it just slipped my mind. So this picture is Toby acting like he is angry. :)

Here are some other pics I snapped of him while playing in the backyard. I have only been home for one full day and I am just LOVING this time I get to spend with family.

WPC- tracks

This week's WPC word is TRACKS. Since we are at the beach, I thought it would be perfect to take a picture of my footprints in the sand! Tonight after Weston went to bed, I walked down to the beach and took a few pics. Here is what I got:

(As you can see I have major foot problems! Bunions, crooked toes...)
I also had a good time snapping pictures of some other things too:

Ewwww... then I found this!

WPC- Artificial

My Nana's costume jewelry.
This week's Shutterboo Challenge word was ARTIFICIAL. Ugh. This was real hard. I thought and thought about it the whole week, tried a few things out, and got nothing. I thought about fake flowers, diet drinks, artificial sweetener, etc. Well, I am a day late now and decided to go with my jewelry. Most of it is fashion jewelry. Big beads, rhinestones, fake pearls (I now have a whole set of real ones thanks to my hubby), etc. I just went through all of my jewelry the other day and cleaned out! So this morning after I put Weston down for a nap, I took a few pictures of all of my necklaces hanging from my jewelry closet organizer. I came downstairs, uploaded the pictures, edited one of them, and then was about to upload it when DUH.... why did I not think of this before?!?!? My great-grandmother's costume jewelry!

I can specifically remember going to my Nana's apartment when I was a little girl. The smells, colors... Just a few things I remember:
- The colorful sun catchers hanging from her sliding glass door (we would make them for her and she LOVED them!)
- Wheel of Fortune playing on her big box television
- Hershey Kiss wrappers on the porch railings (she would feed the squirrels these yummy treats)
-Pink. I think she had pink everything! Pink carpet, pink rugs, pink toilet...
- Snack time. Mmmm... she would make a pot full of yummy snacks. Cheese curls, pretzels, cheese and turkey slices. For some reason I remember getting a pot. It may have been only once, but it is stuck in my brain. Maybe all of her bowls were dirty at the time.
-And in her closet was a box that I loved- her jewelry box. I would run right to her bedroom, plop myself on the floor next to her closet and go through all of her sparkly, fancy jewelry.
This bracelet was my favorite of all the jewelry in her box. I love it. When my great-grandmother moved into an assistant living home, we cleaned out her apartment. That bracelet was the one thing I wanted!! I know. It’s cheapy ole' costume jewelry, but it was my Nana's.

WPC- Red

RED. Red is the challenge word this week for the Shutterboo Weekly Photo Challenge. I procrastinated big time and did not start until today. I can say that each day I did try to find something red, but nothing stood out to me. So once I put Weston down for an afternoon nap, I brought out my liquid watercolors and clear glass bowl. I thought it would look cool dripping the watercolor into the water. I really was not impressed.

Then, of course, Weston woke up. 15 minute nap. That’s it. So I plopped him in the Jump N’Jive and laid some red ribbon on my white bench. I really do not like this picture, but I was playing around with the aperture.

A few days ago, I went to a photography class at Darden. They are just now starting a photography club. Man…. wish they started it last year!! Well, anyway we talked a lot about composition of photos. Dividing your photo into thirds (vertically and horizontally) and putting your subject in one of those areas is supposed to be pleasing to the eye. So these matches meet the “Rule of Thirds” criteria. I kind of like it. (I am obsessed with “thirds”. It seems like a lot of my photos I take of people are off to the side. My mom always says “I like this, but if it needs to be centered.” Grrrrr…)

I decided on this picture- a ketchup bottle. The red really pops with the wall background. Chad really liked this pic. I actually think I may frame it and display it in the kitchen once we move. We’ll see? Anyway… not sure why I cut out most of the bottle, but I'm digging it.

WPC- Simple

Wow! It is week 16 for the Shutterboo Weekly Photo Challenge! I cannot believe that 16 weeks have went by so fast! I started at week 4 and hope that I will find the time to challenge myself to 2 photos a few weeks so I can do the words that I missed in the beginning.
Well, this week's challenge word was simple. I waited to take the picture until today because I knew we were coming to the farm. The farm is one of my simple pleasures. The sound of the "moos" from the cows, calves nursing from their mamas, kitty sleeping on the porch swing, purple martins nesting in their bird houses, and the warm spring air rustling against the work jeans on the clothes line. Life is so much more simple here on the farm. It is crazy to think I will be moving to NYC. Guess I need to get used to the hustle and bustle. I know where I can go to slow down a bit...

WPC- Movement

Again I am a day late submitting my Weekly Photo Challenge picture. This week's challenge word was MOVEMENT. Poor Chad. Last week I had him blow bubbles as I took pictures and this week I had him write using a lighter! I slowed the shutter speed down low and then snapped the pic as Chad wrote the word "love". It was a nice way for Chad to practice his penmanship! ;) He did an awesome job!

WPC- Circle

This week’s Shutterboo Weekly Photo Challenge word was CIRCLE. Chad had the great idea of taking pictures of bubbles!!! Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to submit my picture by the due date (Wednesday). As soon as we came home from New York today we starting blowing bubbles and snapping away! Chad had a great time helping out! I love all of the colors in this bubble!!!

Here are some pictures I took of circles in our hotel room in NYC...

WPC- Purple

PURPLE is the challenge word this week. Here is what I took. Not too happy with this one. Of course, everyone thinks of flowers for the color purple. Oh well. I had a good idea, but did not have the time to get the materials. Maybe for the next color.

By the way, I got my wisdom teeth out this morning. I am feeling pretty good. Let's hope it stays that way!! I made a delicious milkshake with peanut butter. Mmmmm... I may just have to have another tonight after dinner.

I am also so excited because I have lots of people interested in having me take pictures of their family!! It is so crazy. I never thought that this would ever happen for me. Another dream job coming true! I love it! Make sure you tell your friends and family about me! If 5 of your friends sign up for a session, you will get your session 50% off! Thanks everyone!
